Independent and staying that way
Clementine answers to the people who pay for it. No bank, lender or advertiser has a say in what it shows you.
Three commitments.
One source of income
The plans on the pricing page are the whole business. There are no ads, no sponsored categories and no partner offers.
Nothing from lenders
Clementine takes no commission, referral fee or payment of any kind from a bank, lender, insurer, super fund or broker. It will not suggest a loan, a card or a switch of provider because someone paid for the mention.
Your data is not the product
It is not sold, rented or shared for marketing, in any form. The few services that process it to make the app work are listed, with what each one sees, on Your data.
Who makes it
Clementine is built in Australia by one independent developer who wanted household money and side-hustle money in the same place and could not find an app that did both. It is not a project inside a bank, a lender or a software company that sells something else, and nobody outside it owns a share of it.
Small has a cost: things are built one at a time, and this site says plainly which ones are not finished. It also means there is nobody to tell Clementine to make money from you in some other way.
Staying that way
Apps like this usually stop being independent quietly, when someone bigger buys them. We cannot promise what happens in ten years. We can promise how it would be handled:
- If the ownership of Clementine were ever going to change, members would hear it from us before it happened.
- The three commitments above would be written into any such change, or we would tell you they were not.
- Your export would keep working throughout, so leaving would stay easy.
Full export, always
A promise of independence is only worth something if you can walk away. Every plan, including Free and including a plan that has ended, can download everything Clementine keeps: a spreadsheet for each kind of record, one JSON file with all of it exactly as stored, and your receipt images.

If you ever see Clementine do something this page says it will not, write to the contact address that will be published on this page before sign-ups open. We will answer, and if we got it wrong we will say so here.
